A Day of Hmong at Phu Shi Pha, Chiangrai, Thailand
Reaching the historical place, Phu Shi Pha for the first time on 19 Nov. 2010, we four (Tong, Nong , Ajarn Prasit and I)
Hmong there is still a little differences from Chingmai Hmong.
The photographer on the top of the Phu Shi Pha is a Hmong man, who has a small canon printer ready to take photos of tourists and develop each for 50 baths.
He learns a little thing of how to use the printer and handle digital camera, and yes he can make quite a sum of money in a day.
At the parking area is a space for ladies to earn their livelihood. No men are salesman. They all sell the same things which are instant noodles, tea and coffee. There is only one lady that sell different things: small squatters, cloth tortoises and Hmong dresses and communist caps. I was interested in her. She is Yee Yaj or Rapee Yaj.
Learning from another lady that the reason why they sell most only those things beacuse of other things like fruits are not permitted to sell there, just as tourists usually throw fruit's peel at the area. With the fault of the tourist indeed that make them cannot earn a little more money.
Half of the mountain is the place of the girls who offer "their lovely costume" for foreigners by photography posting. I ask why they want money. The KG kid tells me "for education". They only come on the weekend, so the tourists that come on the weekdays will certainly miss the kids.
In Chinagmai, I found that more markets and more tourist spots that the Chinagmai Hmong has more spaces to earn, though it does mean that they are richer.

The ILLUSION of Life
A day brings up the sun
A night brings up the moon
Both the day and the night make 24 hours.
Day by day, I try to make lives feel better
by my little money in pocket that mom gave.
I spent your money for useless things.
You are away to hear my stories
Supposed if you knew, your tears may rain
I keep all to be segret.
Looking back , get angry with the mistakes, can't do anything, only can say that it was just an experience. All people and things were illusion. None exit at present. No brith in future.
Dreaming about future is just a dreamer.Doing is a doer.

Hilltribes Vs Citytribes
After being in a village for more than ten years, she came to work and study in a city. At home people call her "Hmong",which means "man", but over here she has been called "A hilltribe girl". She is named by the place she is. This makes she feel uncomfortable to live in the city. She tries to hide her hmongness and family. Her family seem like they understand the situation, none of her family appears in forn of her as a Hmong. Is she haapy for this?
A few day ago, her mom came in the city with her style of wearing at home. She and the mother walk side by side rashing to somewhere at Chang Phuek. The girl is pretty with her modern style of clothes, the mother's dress is not so clean as it is old. At that time I was driving, my mind just tells me silently that "The city has formed the girl into another direction, where the mother still in the same 50 years ago old fasion." More over I am happy to see that both are walking side by side and hand on hand in this crowded town where people staring at like they are strangers.
At my workplace, a lady says,"Hilltribe people are rich, each one of them has a car becuase they sell drugs. Her husband said on the other day when he saw my dress that" their dress is really nice. I just like it."
I was wondering if they don't know who I am. I hope to be called 'Hmong'.
If you call me "a hilltribe', shall I call you also "a citytribe" then?
There is no answer, but when I asked a man in my office if he would marry with a Thai-yai girl whom he didn't know her root, but she looked everything perfect for him. he said "No".
"Why?",I asked. He told me that even she was right for him,but he would not be able to get on with her because of cultural differences.
One of my friends he got married with a Thai'yai lady. They lived together for more than ten years, they have two children. Just a few months ago they broke up.
I was wondering.....if cultural difference was the reason for their break up.
Yesterday....is old, today is old plus new,and I think only now is new.

It's A Heart Story Plus Head & Hand
What did you mean for your words?
A heart can feel it , a head can understand it, but a hand cannot do it.
There is something in life that we can only feel and think of....and such thing is what one is facing now.
Should he make a full stop and make a new sentence with present tense and future tense only. FORGET the Past tense!!
Both good and bad memories are often fresh when his heart, head and hands are empty. He cannot run away from his thought as he runs away from someone.
Mistakes always appear in his life, yet he learns from, but why there are always mistakes?
Should he make mistakes and learn from every day?
Even you don't make mistakes, then others often make mistakes for you to learn!
When you learn it, and yes you know the solution already, but why can't you escape from what you called problem ?
Is it because too late for one to recover his life?
In the situation of loving somebody like this... If you get out from his world, then the other is lifeless.
Then what should you do?
Get up and walk away as far as you can?
Or Stay with him?
Or Get out from this illusion world?
Life is a story of everything!

Day Off on Valentine's Day for the Strawberry Festival 2010
If you are looking to spend a day off, here is for you.
On 12th to 14th of February are set to be the Strawberry Festival in Samoeng , a district which far from the city Chiang Mai just about 50 kilometers. For years Sameong is known as the largest strawberry farm in Thailand.
Yet, there you will find not only a thousand of strawberry farms, but also hundreds of amazing things of each community. The word "Samoeng" originally means "the Three Cities” in northern Thai dialect. In Karen language is “The morning brightens”
One reason to the term is as in the past there were actually three ethnic groups lived there in Samoeng. The reason for the Karen translation is that since Samoeng is located in such good environment and atmosphere, that is why they named the place as "The Morning Brightens".
This year there are activities in acddition to the festival unlike earlier. According to the the marshal of Samoeng's report on FM 100 Chiangmai, he said there are cultural shows of the local people Muang, Leu, Hmong, Leesu, and Karen as well as exhibitions of the relevant authorities in Samoeng. Moreover, eapeacially for those who are getting married on the Valentine's Day, they would also issuing you a marriage certificate on such day!
At night also you will enjoy with the Miss Strawberry Contest , Ethnic Contest and Miss Hermaphroditic Contest!!
Don't forget to fill up your eyes!! There are alot for you to see!
See you there at Samoeng the second Switzerland of the world!

IS IT A TASTE OF LOVE ?
I was wondering how one could die for another or beacuse another.
His or her life is so important in my life your life?
What makes you commit sucide?
I cannot comprehen you, my dear young Hmongs.
Yet,you may have a reason to die?
I'm old to learn.
But listen, thinnk of your parents and your family!
After you, how will they be;mom and dad run from North through Soth in search of medicine to help you survival. Look! your borther is crying not to let your parents see. Think of this!
Believe me, your beloved one will never have such parental love like your parents including your family. He only has another "spoken love" which teenagers today may call it as "romatic love". Romatic love is not always real love, I assure.
The thing happened to me as well yesterday. Once I did not know anything about what was been told by a lady. I thought I was more than the most stupid person who took more than a spoon of pesticide grass. At the moment this yound lady is lying on the bed at a hospital. It's a pity!!
Hopefully she will soon recover, but the doctor said last night to Mr.Lee" Not yet one survives, she took alot-it's diificult".
However, her dad and bother have made an agrrement officiallly with the hospital to treat her with Hmong herbal medicine. "She is better today", said the mother.
The reason I wrote this is just to ask our teen ones both boys and girls stop thinking to commit sucide just because your beloved does not love or care for you.
I want to hear NO MORE case like this.
NOt pesticide kills you and not your boyfriend/girlfriend kills you but your NO-love for your parents kills you. As a result it kills everyone around you.
The nature of love is not like this. Have you heard of the pharse" Love is beautiful"
It does not a matter to kill others by regreting her/his love.---->Take and Give.
It is not a matter to fight for someone to love you. ---> if cant love yourself ,then Love people who love you.
Let love flows its way as rains never fall from underground to above the sky.

India and I
- There are alots of things which waiting for us to discover. All knowledge is not around us,but inside. It is depended upon our ability to realise and pick it up. The apple falls from the tree, and if Newton failed to learn from it,then the law of gravitation would have not been discovered!!!
- India is the country of contrast. You often see someting beyound your expectation.Yet,and I found that there is a tool similar to Hmong's ones expecially the stick used for balancing the two baskets for carrying water. I observed that their's one is like ours only. In Hmong language we can read it phonetically as " / dΛ ŋ/ ". This attracts me to look forward for the connection.
- India has also have a interesting story "Why corps in the filed do not come home themselves like in the past?" I have heard this story when I was a child. Thus when I came across this Indian legend ,it reminds me of the Hmong version. If you are interested you can check it out form my page in Thai text, otherwise you can surf it. This story creates another couriosity in me. I want to find out if we had been to India before we reached in China. Because the ICE AGE or the Peleolithic Age or The Earliest traces of human existance was in India.
- India is where we Hmongs think that there are also Hmongs live in. But I have experienced that there is not Hmong Indian. Yet,there is a gruop of people who call themselves as "Mizo"(with the similarity of the Hmong's names given by the Han, i.e. Miao zu,Meo or even Mizo ) .But as far as I have learnt form my Mizo friends in college, our language is competely different to one another. Moreover, our dress also is different. However there are many Hmong researchers suggested me that there are Hmongs living in India, and yes, there are Hmongs living here, but only living for studying.
- I was in debt to India. She educates, guides and teaches me how to be a great survior.
